Thoughtless

Well, I finally finished the trilogy. That first sentence makes it seem like I trudged through reading these three books, but that is not the case. I only trudged towards the end because I didn't want it to be over. I went through such a dry spell with books that when I finally read these books, it was like S.C. Stephens handed me a huge glass of ice cold water.

So let me start with the first book. It was probably my least favorite out of the three because it was all about Keira and her feelings for both Kellan and Denny. I saw what her problem was. Denny was like her security blanket, but Kellan was a wild card, something completely new for her. So yes, it was hard for her to decide, but I just couldn't deal with her lying to Denny because he was much too good for all that. For most of the book, I just wanted to slap some sense into her and just tell her to break up with Denny. Yes, his heart was going to be broken, but the relationship they had was more friends with benefits and not a real relationship. What Keira had with Kellan was real, for the most part. It just frustrated me that she led Kellan on and continuously broke his heart while staying with Denny. Kellan had a rough childhood and nobody really loved him, so having Keira in his life, someone who could give him the companionship he deserved, was good for him. He should have pushed Keira to admit that she was cheating to Denny, but he loved her so much that he didn't. This is weird, but I was happy that Denny caught them. I know, it broke Denny's heart (as well as some of Kellan's bones and knocked Keira out), but Keira was having an affair behind Denny's back with his best friend, so it was only fair. Like other YA contemporary romance novels, relationships were broken/formed while in a hospital. Denny actually took everything better than I expected him too. When Keira and Kellan were finally together in the end, I was ecstatic and had to buy the second book.

Life isn't easy for a new rockstar, especially one in a relationship. Keira and Kellan's relationship is put to the test, learning that all relationships thrive on trust. Keira is having a hard time trusting Kellan with his past of sleeping with multiple girls a week. Kellan is scared that Keira will cheat while he is on tour because Keira cheated on Denny with Kellan while Denny was away for two months. With Kellan going on tour for six months, he is scared to lose her when he just got her. Of course, they talk on a daily basis and work on trusting each other, but when Kellan visits for Christmas, Keira gets a bit suspicious when Kellan gets a text from a private number. Although backing up a bit, when Keira is waiting for Kellan to arrive, she is sitting in a park when she gets a text saying that he couldn't make it. She started to cry (which she seems to do quite a bit, as did I throughout the book), she received a text telling her to stop crying. Keira thinks that Kellan just knows her and when she makes a comment out loud, she gets a reply. That happens again until she gets a text that tells her to turn around. Oh my gosh, that was the cutest thing ever because Kellan really was there. Anyway, back to the mysterious text, Kiera gets scared that Kellan is cheating and to add fuel to her fire, she watches a video of Kellan and his band performing which ends with some girl draping herself on Kellan. Kiera finally goes out and surprises Kellan at a concert where he puts her mind at ease about the mystery woman, but not the texts. Of course, Kiera is harboring her own secret of Denny returned to town. Keira eventually spills her secret and so does Kellan. In the end, they are happy and get married, not legally but in their hearts, in a bar where Keira first laid eyes on Kellan.

Book three got the lowest ratings, but was still amazing. In fact, I don't agree with it getting the lowest ratings. Keira joins Kellan on tour as his "wife," but of course, problems follow them. Sienna Sexton (really, what kind of last name is that?) wants to record one of the D-Bags songs and Kellan has no choice but to do it or his record label will kick him to the curb. So they record the song and to further promote the song and send the band to number one, Sienna and the record label decide to film a hot and steamy porno music video. Of course, Keira doesn't like it, but she is supportive and tells Kellan that it is okay. However, Keira is not okay with people saying that Kellan and Sienna are a couple, but she was told to keep her mouth shut. Eventually, Kellan gets fed up when a picture of Kellan and Keira kissing shows up on the cover of every tabloid and rumor site. Fans are giving Keira hate and Kellan hates it. So he goes onto a radio show and admits that he is not dating Sienna, but married in his heart to Keira. Once they leave the radio station, everyone wants to talk to Kellan and Keira, but there is too many people and Keira ends up in the street. Kellan blocks Keira from an oncoming tuck, resulting in him getting hurt pretty bad and rushed to the hospital. Keira doesn't leave Kellan's side the entire time he is in the hospital and decides that she wants to marry him in the hospital because the accident opened her eyes to see how short life is (pretty much what everyone says in a hospital). So on Thanksgiving day, Keira and Kellan get married. Kellan and the D-Bags take time off the tour so Kellan can recover. At the Grammys, right before Kellan and the D-Bags are announced the winners of their category, Keira leans over and whispers something into Kellan's ear. He goes up on stage and announces that he is going to be a father.

Overall, after the first book, I really enjoyed these books. Sorry for the delay getting this post up, but I finally finished it.

If you get a chance, check out these books. Kellan even won the NAAlley Crush Tourney. Congrats Kellan!

Read on!
